The Anvil of God´s Word

Last eve I passed beside a blacksmith´s door
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime;
When looking in, I saw upon the floor,
Old hammers worn with beating years of time.
“How many anvils have you had,” said I,
“To wear and batter these hammers so?”
“Just one,” said he; then with a twinkling eye,
“The anvil wears the hammer out, you know.̶
And so, I thought, the anvil of God´s Word,
For ages, skeptics blows have beat upon;
Yet, though the noise of falling blows was heard,
The anvil is unharmed - the hammers gone.

The Book

"If the Book be not infallible, where shall we find infallibility? We have given up the Pope, for he has blundered often and terribly; but we shall not set up instead of him a horde of popelings fresh from college. Are these correctors of Scriptures infallible? Is it certain that our Bibles are not right, but that the critics must be so? Now, Farmer Smith, when you have read your Bible, and have enjoyed its precious promises, you will have tomorrow morning, to go down the street to ask the scholarly man at the parsonage whether this portion of the Scripture belongs to the inspired part of the Word or whether it is of dubious authority . . . We shall gradually be so bedoubted and be criticized that only a few of the most profound will know what is Bible and what is not, and they will dictate to the rest of us. I have no more faith in their mercy than in their accuracy . . . and we are fully assured that our old English version of the Scriptures is sufficient for plain men for all purposes of life, salvation, and goodness."

About Us

The Printed Word was organized in Slidell, Louisiana in 1981 by Jack and Susan Moody. Its purpose was to establish a source of Gospel material for world evangelism. The Printed Word was involved in street evangelism in the New Orleans area, as well as with several missionaries on deputation and on foreign fields. The Printed Word saw the need for good quality Gospel witnessing aids. The first items produced were T-shirts and bumper stickers geared at giving the Christian a means of getting the gospel message out.

Due to health reasons and other circumstances beyond their control, The Printed Word was relocated to Lenoir, North Carolina in 1986. Here they have worked with expanding the outreach to: scripture signs, gospel tracts, booklet printing, church bulletin service, revival fliers, posters, audio tape to CD mastering, CD and tape labels, VHS to DVD conversion, missionary prayer cards, missionary newsletter service, letterheads and envelopes, as well as many other types of printing for missionaries, churches and ministries.

The goal of The Printed Word is to provide a source of printed material at the lowest possible cost to churches, and at no cost to missionaries. The little profit made goes to subsidize the cost of the printing done for missionaries. Please pray that the Lord will continue to provide this avenue of printed material to evangelize the world.

Seeing the need for an avenue for missionaries to access the World Wide Web, in 2000 The Printed Word branched into web hosting and development by establishing Missionary Families.Org.

Missionary Families.Org hosts, develops, and maintains web spaces for Missionaries, Churches and Ministries. Missionary sites are developed at or below cost with the proceeds from the Church sites used to subsidize them. At Missionary Families.Org they offer full service web hosting from site development, domain registration, domain hosting, to full site maintenance and updates.

Moody Family Ministries was established to bring all of their ministries together. Moody Family Ministries was setup to be the main trunk of their ministry keeping the branches together in an orderly fashion allowing them to work all together as well as separately.

In the past several years they have added several more branches to the ministry: MissionaryHelper.org (helping to raise money for mission projects), AV1611Compliant.org (Website locator for websites committed to the truth that the King James Bible, AV 1611 is the pure, inerrant, infallible, preserved word of God to this last generation, where English is the universal language.), StreetPreacherSupply.org (Offering the supplies and equipment for the Publick minister and ministries.), RUSaved.org (The Most Important Question of Your Life: Where Will You Spend Eternity?).

Please pray for Moody Family Ministries as they continue to strive to serve the Lord through their current ministries as well as through any and all doors He opens and the avenues He allows them to go down!

His word shall stand for ever.

For feelings come and feelings go
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the word of God,
Naught else is worth believing.

Though all my heart should feel condemned
For lack of some sweet token
There is One greater than my heart
Whose word cannot be broken.

Iíll trust in Godís unchanging word
Till soul and body sever
For though all things shall pass away,
His word shall stand for ever.

The Kingís English

I heard an old-time preacher speak
Without one reference to the Greek.
"The King James Bible I hold in my hand
Is God´s holy words on which I stand!"

And then the scholars came along,
And said the preacher had it wrong.
"Conflations here, rescissions there,
And scribal errors everywhere.

A book ´essentially correct,´
But not in every last respect."
"A ´fairly certain´ word" they say,
"To light our path and guide our way."

Then in despair I bowed my head.
"We have no word of God," I said.
If some of this old Book is wrong,
Pray tell, what else does not belong?

Will still more manuscripts be found?
And make us go another round?
Correcting, changing, taking out;
Creating questions, fear and doubt?

Must more discoveries come to light
Before we finally get it right?
Will precious doctrines fade away
Because of what the scholars say?

How many "errors" must we purge
Because of what the scholars urge?
How many versions must we make?
How many changes can we take?

How will we ever know we"re through?
And that we possess a Scripture true?
If man must find God"s word, my friend,
When will the changes ever end?

Then back to the Book again I fled
To find out what my Father said
"Forever settled . . . never fade;"
This promise God the Spirit made.

A thousand generations hence;
That seems a pretty strong defense.
A "perfect Book?" Then it must be
Man can´t improve what God gave me.

"The King´s book" is infallibly true,
Instructing us in all that we do.
Preserved by God, not found by men,
Inscribed by God the Spirit´s pen.

If God or scholars you must choose,
Be sure the ´experts´ always lose.
Donít give them a second look,
Just keep believing this old Book.
